32 year old goalkeeper Steve Collis has extended his stay at the club by signing a new one year deal.

The deal will also see him take up the role as a goalkeeper coach.

Speaking to the Official Site Keith Hill said of the player he brought in back in January.

‘Plans for the re-structure of the team behind the team are on going and more will be revealed probably by the end of the week. As for Steve, it was made plainly obvious to me when we recruited him that he had a hankering for going into the coaching side as well as being a more than capable number 2. We had discussions about that and he’s 100% on plan with respect to my needs and the needs of the game.’

Keith Hill said it was basically a no brainer to have somebody of his quality available for first team duties if needed, but also have him play a part in coaching the other goalkeepers at the club because of the experience he has.

Collis’ appointment also sees the departure of Bernhard Hirmer who was our former keeper coach and the club wish him the best for his future.
