Manager Keith Hill has said he was delighted to see Rochdale put in an improved second half display as we came from behind twice to take a point in the game against Coventry City.

Making the trip to the Ricoh Stadium, Hill told the Official Site that he was pleased with our second half showing because he felt overall, a point was well deserved for our efforts.

‘I won’t complain about the finishing from Samuel and Odelusi because they were two great finishes but there were as a result of giving away possession when we’ve got possession secured, so I’m disappointed with that. However, there’s a lot of the game that I’m pleased with. I’m pleased with the spirit and the second half performance. That was outstanding and on another day I think we win it.’

Having been disappointed with possession as said, he felt the way we kept the ball in the second period was much improved and far better, and far more like us and the way we normally play.

Hill also picked out the improved distribution of goalkeeper Josh Lillis in the second period, as he felt he was lumping it too often and the end result was it just came back at us, but in the second period he was playing it out sensibly, we were keeping control and able to dictate more again, and of course Jamie for the gaffer just shined in the second half and they couldn’t get near him.

The gaffer also confirmed that the Rafferty half time substitute was 100% tactical, and he admits that moving Henderson to right back did result in a strange look in the dressing room, but it was a move that worked out perfectly for us with how the game then turned.

There was also praise for Callum Camps for his first professional goal that got us back on level terms the first time, ‘he scores when he wants’ Andrew also grabbed his fifth of the season and Hill was pleased for both of them.
