Keith Hill has said that the loan signing of striker Graham Cummins will give him further options as we move forward this season.

The player joins us on loan until January from League One Preston North End, and the manager told the Official Site that he was a welcome addition and a good option to have.

‘He’ll bring honesty, endeavour and hard work, he’s a little different to the players that we’ve got and I’m pleased to have been able to recruit him.’

Hill continues to explain that when Cummins played in Ireland he scored a hatful of goals and he’s worked very hard since moving to Preston, and he believes that his work rate alone will see him find the net on a number of occasions for us during his spell him.

That said, Cummins is under no illusions that he’ll have to work hard and impress in training to work his way into the squad on merit as he’s here to provide competition and the games he gets he’ll have earnt.

From a quick search, although Cummins has only scored four times for Preston since joining them, he found the net 42 times in 62 appearances, so the knowledge of where the net is something the 25 year old has, so hopefully a run of games which Keith Hill says he’s never really got at Preston, will help bring out the best in him and we’ll reap the rewards.
