Following the two nil victory over Bristol Rovers, Rochdale picked up their 9th home victory of the campaign, and the gaffer is delighted to see us reach his target of a 40 point return from our first 23 matches.

Speaking to the Official Site following the victory, Hill explained that he felt the same team in basic deserved another crack at things following the Mansfield win and although he knew it would be difficult for them to show the same energy because of the lack of time in between the games, he was pleased with the effort that they put in and he believes the early goal gave us that extra touch of energy to see things through.

‘The first half was difficult and we obviously had to play without Olly Lancashire for ten minutes (he needed stitches) but I feel as though we were justified in waiting on him so I’m really pleased going into the second half of the season.’

Hill is obviously delighted to see us pick up 12 wins from the first half of the campaign and he’s obviously looking forward to seeing us kick on further in the second half of the campaign now because whilst he more than feels the team know how to win games of football, he still wants to see improvement in terms of how we learn not to lose matches as he feels if we’d been a bit better at that over the last few months, we would have a few more points on the table, so that will be the focus for 2014 in finding that balance.

Describing 2013 so far as successful, he wants 2014 to be even better and he’s looking for us to confirm we won’t be involved in a scrap at the bottom by starting the New Year brightly.
