Manager Keith Hill has said he was pleased with both the points and the victory in our two one win over Bradford at the weekend.

Speaking to the Official Site Hill describe the pitch as being ‘horrendous’ and credited the players for showing both a physical and a mental strength to get through the game and come out with the result that we wanted.

‘On a pitch like today it was down to braveness – a physical braveness and a mental braveness. Let’s be right, the pitch was horrendous and I think, without being disrespectful, that’s shooting Bradford in their own foot. But we said after the game that we’re really pleased with the points, the result and the courage the players showed because we’re playing against a really tough side there.’

Hill goes on to say that Bradford can be down to eight men on the park but they are relentless in how they put energy into a performance, and he namechecked the likes of Jon Stead and James Hanson up front who are always outlets and always causing defenders problems, and he knows that at times during the game we more than rode our luck with how those two in particular played.

‘Like I say, I’m just happy with the points, happy with the result and it’s getting us closer to at least the 50 points mark. We’ll see where we are after that.’
