Manager Keith Hill has responded to the news that we will face Leeds United at home in the third round of the FA Cup.

It should be a good day for Rochdale as we host the Championship club on January 4th, 2014 and it will certainly be a tough test for us as the gaffer admitted to the Official Site.

‘I’m pleased that we’re at home, we’ve had great support in our last two away games so it’s great to bring the FA Cup back to Spotland and hopefully we can sprinkle a little bit of magic on the game. It’s a difficult fixture, but a really good fixture for us.’

Hill goes on to say that it’s a game that we can more than get excited about but we’ve got five league games that must take our focus before then, and if we can go into the Leeds game with a good run of league form it will obviously help us in that task.

As ever one thing the FA Cup always guarantees is that no result is really guaranteed on the day, and Leeds will come into it as strong favourites with the pressure on them, so if we are on our game, who knows what we might be able to take out of it.

Hill is more than aware of that in pointing out that despite knowing it will be very tough on the day, the bottom line is it’s a one off fixture so the normal rules of big club, small club go out the window.

The full details for the game have now been announced, and as above it will take place at 3pm on January 4th.

The game is all ticket and the away fans will be in the Willbutts Lane Stand.

Normal league match day prices apply to this game, and season ticket holders have priority.

Full details are available on the official site.
