Manager Keith Hill has made his first purchase of the summer by signing striker Jack Muldoon.

With preparations afoot for our coming League One campaign, Muldoon has put pen to paper on a 12 month deal which will kick in from the start of next season.

The 24 year old moves to us from Evo-Stik Northern Premier side Worksop Town where he spent the 2013-14 season, scoring 21 goals, but since the turn of the year he has been training regularly with Rochdale and Hill has obviously been impressed.

Previously in his career, having started life at Scunthorpe Town, he has had spells with Brigg Town, Sheffield FC and North Ferriby United.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer said of the player.

He’s a goal scorer, he’s a provider, he’s got plenty of pace and power and he can play in a number of position and he fits into the balance of the type of squad that we want. We’ve had a really good look at him and to offer him a contract was the easiest thing I could do.’

Hill goes on to say that he has no concerns at all about taking him into League One and he feels that fans, when they have seen enough of him, will view him as a ‘pleasant surprise.’

‘Jack’s not a household name at the moment, but he will be, don’t worry about that.’

Be interesting to see how he fits in, as Hill has already said fans shouldn’t be concerned if he brings people in from non league.
