As expected following his omission from pre season friendlies, striker Scott Hogan has now completed his speculated move to Brentford.

The 22 year old has signed a new three year deal with the club, and passed his medical last weekend. He moves to the Championship side for an undisclosed fee.

His second spell at Spotland is now over after only 14 months.

The player came through our youth ranks and moved to the non league at the end of his scholarship, but manager Keith Hill kept tabs on his progress and brought him back to the club last summer.

January was an interesting time with many rumoured moves for him, but the club wishes to place on record their thanks for all his hardwork and his efforts in our shirts – the role he played in our promotion – and they wish him the very best for the future.

Having joined us last summer, Hogan went on to make 40 appearances across all competitions in 2013-14, only five of which were substitute appearances, and he contributed 19 goals.

That included two hattricks and he earned himself a League Two Player of the Month award as well as a League Two Player of the Year nomination.
