Despite being away on holiday at the moment, Keith Hill is in regular contact with assistant Chris Beech and CEO Colin Garlick and plans are progressing nicely.

Speaking to the Official Site Hill explained that despite being away the work hadn’t really stopped when it came to plans for next season, and he admitted that defence is a priority for him ahead of our pre season kick off.

‘It’s been a working holiday for me, we’ve done a lot of work so far and I’m pleased with the progress.’

He adds that following the Phil Edwards news, the club are now pursuing other options and although it’s a priority, he’s not going to panic over it.

‘I’m not in a rush because there are some very good centre halves out there, but they’ve got to be the right calibre for me. It’s a position that needs strengthening, I’m trying recruit two central defenders.’

Hill’s hope is to gain one very good experienced defender, and then another who has potential and can be moulded and grown by the club.
