Goalkeeper Jamie Jones has made the move to Spotland from Preston North End today.

The 26 year old stopper has moved to us until the end of the season and has been handed the No 19 shirt for his stay with us.

Fans may remember him well, as he’s played against us three times this season – twice for the Liywhites and once for Coventry City in our trip to the Ricoh Arena.

He comes to us with just over 200 career appearances.

Speaking to the Official Site after the move was announced, Jones explained that he’s not one for sitting in the stands so having found himself out of favour at Preston, he’s looking forward to challenging properly for the first team position now.

‘I’m not one to sit in the stands or on the bench, so as soon as I wasn’t playing after 20 games at Preston I wanted to get out and play. Coventry provided that for me and now Rochdale are doing the same, so I’m just going to go out there and do my best. Hopefully my performances will give the gaffer no choice but to pick me.’
