Rochdale’s League 1 season continued with a draw against Fleetwood at the Highbury Stadium on Saturday.

A point wasn’t a bad result for Rochdale, however this could have been more and looked like being more until the final minutes, it could have been more still even after Dale had been pegged back!

Vincenti’s (55) second half goal looked like it was going to give Rochdale a win at Fleetwood, who equalised through Matt (87) with time running out.

When Vincenti went down under a challenge from Jonsson a chance to win this was still on for Rochdale but Fleetwood ‘keeper Maxwell denied Henderson with a fine save from his penalty in this one-one draw.

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Sat 5th September
Southend 2 – 1 Peterborough
Barnsley 1 – 2 Shrewsbury
Chesterfield 2 – 3 Wigan
Crewe 1 – 3 Swindon
Fleetwood 1 – 1 Rochdale
Gillingham 1 – 0 Doncaster
Oldham 1 – 2 Bradford
Scunthorpe 0 – 1 Blackpool
Walsall 0 – 1 Bury

Sun 6 Sep 2015
Burton 1 – 2 Coventry

Looking at these results, ahead of the fixture still to be played of course, the stand out ones have to be the wins for Southend and Blackpool?

Southend’s two-one win at Roots Hall against Peterborough, the early game on Saturday on Sky Sports, saw the Shrimpers record a first win back in League 1 since winning the play-off final in dramatic fashion against Wycombe in May.

A first win of the season, and indeed since January as a then Championship club, from Blackpool wouldn’t have been something many would have expected when the Tangerines went to Scunthorpe. But they did that with a one-nil win at Glanford Park!

Rochdale are back in action next weekend with a League 1 game against Burton at the Pirelli Stadium.
