Rochdale’s League 1 season continued with a win against Shrewsbury at Spotland on Tuesday.

A five-goal thriller saw Rochdale come out on top three-two to move up to 5th in the table.

Peter Vincenti (4) a penalty from Ian Henderson (12) and then Jamie Allen (15) goals had Rochdale three-up in just 15-minutes!

Nathaniel Knight-Percival (35) and James Collins (41), from the penalty spot for Shrewsbury, had the Shrews back in the game but Dale did enough to see the win out.

The other results this midweek were as follows:-

Tue 29th September 2015 – League One
Blackpool 2-0 Chesterfield
Burton 0-0 Sheff Utd
Colchester 2-0 Bradford
Crewe 1-2 Southend
Doncaster 2-2 Swindon
Gillingham 5-1 Fleetwood
Peterborough 2-3 Bury
Port Vale 1-1 Oldham
Rochdale 3-2 Shrewsbury
Scunthorpe 0-1 Walsall
Wigan 2-2 Millwall

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Blackpool, Gillingham and Bury.

Struggling Blackpool, for only a second time this season and a first time at home in God only knows how long, won at Bloomfield Road seeing off Dean Saunders’ Chesterfield, who are now going through an indifferent spell of form having been going along nicely earlier in the season.

I think you could say Gillingham managed a ‘recovery’ from successive defeats with a five-one thrashing of Fleetwood, who are struggling a bit this season after such an impressive first season in League 1 last term. This win also kept the Gills’ unbeaten home record going and consolidated third place.

Bury’s flying start to the season, and winning run, continued with them edging out Peterborough in a five-goal thriller at London Road in the new Posh bosses first home game in charge with the Shakers’ ‘early season charge’ continuing with a three-two win.
