Leeds United have taken the unusual approach to confirm that they have not made an offer for striker Scott Hogan.

Reports from journalists emerged on twitter the other day that they ‘understood’ that Leeds had made a firm offer for the Rochdale striker, and of course, as is life on the internet, these reports then spread and gained a life of their own.

Yesterday the Elland Road outlet released a statement which read.

‘The club would like to confirm that no approach has been made for Rocdahle’s Scott Hogan. Recently the media have reported that a bid from United had been rejected by the League One club, but there is not truth to these rumours.’

The statement ends by saying that they will make no further comment on this matter now.

There was Hogan interest in January and the issues that caused, hopefully this summer the player will be able to focus on getting a good pre season under his belt and hitting the ground running following our promotion, rather than speculation taking over again.
