Rochdale are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performances by Nathaniel Mendez-Laing in the one nil victory over Bury and the two nil victory over Coventry City in the weekend’s Easter double header was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Mendez-Laing was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Mendez-Laing’s recent good form continued, helping Rochdale to six points from their meetings with Bury and Coventry City. The winger made a crucial clearance off the line as they overcame their rivals on Thursday night, and created both goals against the Sky Blues on Easter Monday.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Mendez-Laing for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.
