Rochdale are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by goalkeeper Brendan Moore in the scoreless draw between Southend United and Rochdale at the weekend at Roots Hall was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Moore was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Rochdale held on for a point in Saturday`s visit to Southend United, and they had their goalkeeper to thank for ensuring they did so. The stopper made a superb first-half penalty save to keep out Simon Cox for the hosts, and he was on hand to repel the Shrimpers after Dale were reduced to 10 men early in the second half.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Moore for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the point.

Full Team:

Brendan Moore (Rochdale), Joe Martin (Stevenage), Troy Brown (Exeter City), Anthony Stewart (Wycombe Wanderers), Levi Sutton (Scunthorpe United), Alex Rodman (Shrewsbury Town), Tarique Fosu (Charlton Athletic), Siriki Dembele (Grimsby Town), Jordan Roberts (Crawley Town), Charlie Wyke (Bradford City), Shaq Coulthirst (Barnet).

Manager – Kevin Nolan (Notts County).
