Gillingham missed a chance to open up a commanding lead at the top of the League Two table but Tuesday’s draw at Rochdale still consolidated their position.

A defensive mix up gave Rochdale to take an early lead and George Donnelly (12) made no mistake as he put the ball into an empty net from some 25-yards.

Danny Kedwell twice went close in the early stages of the second half but couldn’t convert, however it proved third time luck for the striker when Kedwell (56) headed home before the hour to level for Gillingham.

Andrew Frampton’s late sending off saw The Gills play out the final 10-minutes of so with 10-men, which almost saw the hosts take advantage but the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
