Dale To Take On The Bees.

After Tuesday’s loss on penalties to Oldham there was quite some reaction by the Dale fans. I suppose it’s understandable, expectations are high and there’s a worry that we are starting this season in a similar way to last.

Our main problem, and after two games I use the term ‘main problem’ lightly, is a lack of goals. The partnership of ALF and Daggers has never really sparked into life and for all Shaw’s hard work he just couldn’t find a way into the game against the Biffos.

However, I’m hoping today will be different, certainly I’d be more concerned if we weren’t creating chances. With all due respect to Barnet they are not one of the fancied teams and have got off to a pretty poor start losing 3-1 at home to Chesterfield and being dumped out of the Carling Cup due to a 4-0 drubbing at Brighton.

Dale then may see this as a chance for 3 points and a confidence boost ahead of two tricky games where we take the trip to Bradford before entertaining Bury at home.

Let’s not be complacent though, Barnet have a decent side and a good Manager and have done a number on us a few times in the past effectively ending our Play-Off hopes towards the end of the 2006/07 season.

If Dale can start to produce the goods infront of goal we really should be able to see off Barnet this afternoon.
