Goalkeeper Robbie Thomson has put pen to paper on a 12 month deal after impressing Keith Hill over the last three weeks.

The former Celtic youth player is now awaiting Football League, FA and international clearance, but he impressed during games against Northwich Victoria, Halifax, Stalybridge and Blackburn.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer said.

‘Having witnessed in training what his capabilities are, Robbie is in sync with what I expect from a goalkeeper. We’ll continue to progress him, develop him and give him an opportunity. For me, it’s great that we’ve brought him in as a rival to Josh Lillis as I believe with the recruitment of Robbie that we’ve got two very capable keepers.’
