The League One season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend, 7th October.

Goals flowed on Saturday with Doncaster beating Southend – who saw a three game winning run ended – 4-1 with the same scoreline secured by Bradford at MK Dons, which allowed them to consolidate third place and opening a gap on fourth placed Rotherham – who also won at Rochdale.

The biggest win of the afternoon though came at Sixfields when Bristol Rovers stunned their host, Northampton. The third bottom side have now lost four of the last five after a positive start for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink with the Cobblers.

Bottom side Plymouth slipped to a fourth straight defeat when Fleetwood became the latest side to leave Home Park with the points.

Leaders Shrewsbury drew at Walsall so their lead at the top was cut to two points when Wigan – retaining a two point advantage on Bradford – won at Scunthorpe.
