News is circulating on the internet suggesting former Dale midfielder Ernie Cooksey’s time with us is coming to a premature end.
The news broke from a conference forum suggesting Ernie has just 48 hours to live. However, it has come to our attention that no specific time has been given although sadly it seems it can’t be long. There was also a posting on the Grays Athletic forum at around 3pm this afternoon (28th June) saying:
‘I’m afraid to announce that Ernie is critically ill in hospital and the outlook is very poor. I’m sure everyone at the club and supporters are thinking of Ernie and his family at this time. Jamie Day is also at his bedside’.
Ernie’s partner, Louise is due to give birth to their first child in just four weeks. Here’s hoping he gets to see his child.
