Rochdale and Chesterfield have played a bit of swapsies, with the two sides trading defenders on loan.
Ex Oldham player Dean Holden will move to Spotland, with Neil Trotman moving in the opposite direction.
Right back Holden is 32 and should bring some experience to a back line that has been found wanting too often this season.
Both deals will run until 3rd January 2012 with a view to make them permanent.

All my Oldham fan mates raved about Holden when he was younger. Hopefully he’ll add a bit of know how to the defence – we need it!
Holden is decent if not the fastest but he’ll add some steel to the defence
Exactly, we’ve got plenty of nippy skinny kids – need somebody to boss them
Trotman’s been an accident waiting to happen for too many games this season
