October Player Of The Month

Tough call picking a player of the month for an October that was like a Graze box; offered so much, but delivered so little.



was going to pick a ‘worst player of the month,` but having just churned out 500 words on why fans should be supportive and patient it would seem a little too hypocritical, so there will be a player of the month for October, and it`s Captain Fantastic, Mr 500, Jonah himself; stand up Gary Jones.

October summed up Gary Jones` career quite nicely. It would have been a whole lot worse without him. Some questions are perennial. Questions like, how big is the universe, how do people listen to The Wanted without wanting to shoot themselves, why has a bigger club never seen the value in Gary Jones? The lower league`s Frank Lampard, and I mean that very much as a compliment, not as a comment on his waist line.

His box to box running, his energy in the tackle, his eye for a ball and his impeccable timing when arriving at a loose ball in the box. If he wasn`t a footballer you sense he`d be Superman, always arriving just in the nick of time.

If there`s not a statue of Jonah outside Spotland in ten years time it can only be because we`ve moved to a new ground to accommodate Champion`s League football.



or that very reason, and also because there`s no one else who deserves it, October`s player of the month is Gary Jones.
