Cup Treat At Spotland.
Well, what can we say about Ernie that hasn’t already been said? Let’s face facts, tonight is Ernie’s night and it’s going to be an emotional one.
It really is a fantastic draw for both clubs, allowing Daleys and Biffos to come together and and show their respects. I know I for one will be shouting Ernie’s name loud and proud once the minutes silence has been observed.
I have to be truthful and say the match has took a back seat but if we’re being honest, we don’t wanna lose this one. Of course there is no great rivalry, there could be if we weren’t so invariably shit and actually played them once in a while, but nobody likes losing to their neighbours.
I’m not sure what line up to expect tonight but I’d go with one similar to Saturday changing Wiseman and ALF for Higgy and Thorpe or even Shaw if he’s fit.
I’m sure there’s gonna be a great atmosphere with the Biffos expected to fill Willbutts Lane and we will all be united as one singing Ernie’s name.
Oldham themselves will be in confident mood after coming from 3-1 down on Saturday to beat Milwall 4-3. A word also to the Dale Yoof watch yourselves, apparently the Biffos possess great pie-throwing arms.
It’s gonna be a tough game but I’m sure we’ll give it a good go and here’s hoping for a proper old fashioned Cup tie.
