Jake Bean Returns to Blackburn

Jake Kean has returned to Blackburn Rovers at the request of his parent club. Blackburn stated the keeper was needed as the first choice reserve, Mark Bunn, was injured. That same weekend Bunn was named in the match day squad. Curiouser and curiouser.

It`s fair to say Bean struggled at Rochdale, particularly with the command of his area. That said he hasn`t been helped by some shocking defending in front of him.

Bean ‘s departure should free up some space for Eyre to make another loan signing. Perhaps a keeper that doesn`t mind opening his mouth, just once in a while, just to make the occasional noise?

Ahmed Benali is still also on the books taking up the place of a potential loanee. That despite only appearing in only 3 games since his arrival.

Mark Twaddle, remember him? Rochdale beat off competition from a number of clubs to sign him in the summer, but he has yet to play even once in a defence that`s been about as secure as a UK Border Control agent on bribe day.

Eyre remains positive though, telling the MEN: “I still believe we`ve got good footballers within the group and good character but we are handicapped weekly with the goals that go in the back of our net.”

If only we add another defender we fought tooth and nail to sign in the summer eh Steve?

Strange one about Bean – rumours are he asked to go back. Can’t see him making it too high in football to be honest. I hope I’m wrong, but didn’t seem strong enough mentally or physically

Can’t say I’m too devastated. Letting Fon Williams go is looking more and more like it was a bad idea
