Rochdale travel to Relegation struck Luton Town on Saturday with the hopes of picking up 3 vital points as they look to bounce back swiftly after last weeks disapointing 2-0 defeat to the hands of Darlington.

Vital Quotes:

Luton Town Team News:

Luton are without skipper Kevin Nicholls in their last game in the Football League, as he underwent an operation earlier in the week. Left back Lewis Emmanuel is also out of the clash as he is on comprehensive leave while Ed Asafu-Adjaye is also out as he nurses a sore knee and ankle.

Player to watch: Tom Craddock

Tom Craddock will obviously pose a goal threat, the signing from Middlesborough has been somewhat of a hero at Kennilworth Road in his short spell at the club with some brilliant performances aswell as some fine goals, most notably at Wembley in the Johnstones Paint Trophy final, in what has been an extremely unfortunate season for the club.

Rochdale Team News:

Rochdale will travel to Kennilworth Road with the long awaited news that skipper Gary Jones could feature, after being out of first team action since the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Kallum Higginbottham remains a doubt aswell as young defender Craig Dawson.

Player to watch: Gary Jones

Due to recent performances it wouldn’t appear as though Dale would have a ‘player to watch’, but Gary Jones if he features would definately be eager to make a notable impression.

Match Facts & Stats

The reverse fixture finished 2-0 to Rochdale at Spotland earlier in the season.

Mick Harford’s men are without a win in their last 5 league games while Rochdale have won 1 out of their last 5 league games in what has been a disapointing recent run.

Ref Watch:

The ref will be Mr James Linington with his assistants J Busby and G R Russell.

Match Prediction:

Earlier in the week Keith Hill challenged his players to notch up one more point to see them over the line to secure a play off place come the end of the season. Luton however will be hoing to dent Rochdales hopes by getting something from the match. Teams who have been relegated before the end of the season have a tendancy to notch some points up on the board when, to be fair, aren’t really important but deny other teams of gaining valuable points. A point would be a good result for Rochdale and would definately keep the pressure on the teams in and around them. A 1-1 result seems a likely outcome!

Next Fixtures:

Dale host Gillingham in the last game of the League season in what could turn out to be a crucial game depending on the outcome of the results this weekend!
